  21. MUI is - for a NORMAL Amiga system - much too slow, needs too many
  22. resources and does NOT suit everyone's taste. You CAN do the same with the
  23. original software (gadtools) and just have to put a few more minutes into
  24. development. So - again I am saying the same as you AFAIK - you can
  25. concentrate on porting/writing GOOD software and don't have to concentrate
  26. on doing weired graphical stuff that nearly 50% of all Amiga users simply
  27. don't want (talking of MUI again).

  29. It's that simple: MUI is a GOOD system (just like Windows for a DOS PC is a
  30. real improvement) and gives you nearly the same disadvantages. It slows
  31. down ALL of your applications, it comes with a childish look and so on.
  32. MANY people LOVE it. Many don't.

  34. So in my eyes it is NOT understandable that AT will release software that
  35. requires Amiga-Windows-Clones like MUI. Don't bother me with mails a'la
  36. "MUI is nothing like Windows" - I know it is not. But it is the same line
  37. of history: putting some weired GUI to a system, making developers use it
  38. and REALLY wasting lots of computing power - and MANPOWER for that.

  40. If you have an 68060 or similar you can play around with MUI very nice. If
  41. you don't... get yourself LOTS of coffee.

  43. DON'T bother me with answers like "MUI is much faster in V3.xxx". It simply
  44. isn't.

  46. Go ahead - have a look on applications with MUI on a plain Amiga 1200 as it
  47. will be shiped as InterNet Bundle by AT. It ISN'T USABEL AT ALL for someone
  48. who works with Amiga from the very beginning. It is damned slow. Besides:
  49. putting a 14400 Modem to the bundle is a real joke in my eyes. Especially
  50. here in Germany where phone costs are incredably high this bundle is a
  51. pain!
